How to Connect Jira Projects to Transkriptor

Step 1: Start from the Transkriptor App

Open the Integrations tab in your Transkriptor dashboard, find Jira Projects, and click Connect.

Step 2: Authorize with Atlassian

You'll be redirected to Atlassian's authorization screen. Under Use app on, select your Atlassian site. Transkriptor will request the following permissions:

In Jira, it would like to:

• View — Issue types, Projects, jira-user, jira-work

• Update — jira-work

In User, it would like to:

• View — me

Click Accept to grant access and return to Transkriptor.

Step 3: Configure Your Jira Projects Settings

Once connected, the Jira Projects Settings modal will open. Configure the following:

• Cloud — Select your Atlassian site (e.g. yourcompany.atlassian.net)

• Project — Choose the Jira project where issues should be created

• Issue Type — Select the default issue type for auto-created tasks (e.g. Task, Story)

• Include Summary in Description — Toggle on to add the AI meeting summary to each issue's description (on by default)

• Include Transcript Link — Toggle on to add a clickable transcript link to each issue's description (on by default)

Click Save to apply your settings.

Step 4: Done — Issues Are Created Automatically

The integration is now active. After each meeting, Transkriptor will analyze the transcript, extract action items, and create individual Jira issues in your selected project.

To verify it's working, open your Jira project board. You'll see the action items from your meeting listed as individual issues in the To Do column (e.g. Publish the new onboarding flow, QA the payments integration before release, Prepare the launch landing page). Opening an issue shows the meeting title, AI summary with assignee names, action items, and a View Transcript link in the description.

Note: Transkriptor creates issues only in the project you select. You can change the project or issue type anytime from the integration settings.

What Happens After Each Meeting

Once connected, after a meeting finishes processing and the AI summary is ready, Transkriptor:

1. Exports the full transcript.

2. Uses AI to extract all action items discussed in the meeting.

3. Creates one Jira Projects issue per action item in your selected project.

Each issue includes:

• Issue title: the action item extracted from the transcript

• 📝 Meeting title at the top of the description

• AI-generated summary of the meeting — including key points and action items with assignee names when mentioned (optional)

• 📄 View Transcript — a clickable link to the full transcript (optional)

If no action items are found in a meeting, no issues are created.

Configure Your Settings

Manage these from the Jira Projects Settings in the Transkriptor app.

How to Disconnect

To stop creating issues, go to Transkriptor app → Integrations → Jira Projects → Disconnect. This revokes Transkriptor's access to your Atlassian account. Issues already created in Jira Projects are not affected.
