Transcriptions of audio and video files have become more popular than ever, and there are many AI transcription tools available in the market. TurboScribe is a web-based platform that requires an Internet connection to work. The AI tool can convert media files into text that can also be translated into over 134 languages. It sounds like a good audio-to-text transcription option when you do not want to listen to an hour-long meeting but need a written transcript.
While TurboScribe can perform basic transcription and translation jobs, it does not suit the needs of someone looking to record a meeting on video conferencing platforms. It also does not have a summarization feature, which means you cannot directly generate a summary of detailed transcripts. That is where it is essential to look for an alternative that offers a wider set of features compared to TurboScribe but comes at a lower price range.
Transkriptor is a versatile and feature-packed TurboScribe alternative that extends its features beyond transcribing. For example, the AI speech-to-text tool can auto-join and record meetings on Zoom, MS Teams, and Google Meet to automate the transcription and translation process. Unlike TurboScribe, Transkriptor has an AI Chat Assistant that can analyze transcripts and answer questions quickly and accurately. The AI summary feature helps you generate quick summaries, so you do not have to read lengthy transcripts.
TurboScribe is an AI speech-to-text tool with most of the features related to transcription. It has a basic interface and allows you to import media files in different formats directly for transcription. However, the tool lacks many advanced features, like recording live meetings, summarizing the transcripts, and generating a shareable link. Before you plan to invest in the paid plan, here are a few features of TurboScribe you should check out:
TurboScribe is an unlimited audio and video transcription service that can convert media files to readable text. You can upload media files in common formats like MP4, MP3, MOV, AAC, WMC, and YouTube links to generate the transcripts.
Once the files are transcribed, TurboScribe allows you to download the transcripts as PDF, DOCX, TXT, captions, and subtitles (VTT and SRT). However, there is no option to share the transcript link with team members and collaborate on the same file.
TurboScribe also has a translation feature that quickly translates the transcripts or subtitles into 134+ languages, such as English, Dutch, Japanese, and Russian. You can then download the translated files as TXT, VTT, SRT, and CSV.
The main function of TurboScribe is to transcribe files so you do not have to spend time listening to the audio or video content.
TurboScribe has a high accuracy rate of 99% and can transcribe audio/video files into 99 languages.
It has an easy-to-use interface and can even be used by beginners.
There is a free plan available to transcribe 3 media files per day.
The speaker recognition feature of TurboScribe is not very accurate.
It is not unlimited, and you will get only 720 hours of transcription per month.
You cannot summarize the transcripts using TurboScribe.
TurboScribe has gained a positive reputation as an unlimited speech-to-text tool, but it does come with certain limitations. For example, there is only one paid plan available, starting at $10 per month, and its basic features might not suit professionals and teams.
If you are looking to test the features of TurboScribe, then the free plan might be a good option. It allows you to transcribe three files per day with a limit of 30 minutes per conversation. However, it comes with a limitation: You will also have to wait longer to get your files transcribed.
TurboScribe Unlimited plan starts at $10 per month (billed annually) and includes access to all features, including bulk exports, translation and transcription, and unlimited storage. While TurboScribe advertises itself as an unlimited tool, you can only transcribe 720 hours of media files per month.
While we have covered TurboScribe pricing, pros, cons, and features in detail, it is important to hear from real users to get a complete picture. We checked the user reviews on Trustpilot to gather insights about the audio and video transcription service, and here are the results:
Some users appreciated the fast, accurate, and multilingual transcription features of TurboScribe. Here is what the users say about the features:
TurboScribe is frankly amazing. It just works. It is fast and super accurate. I started off on the free plan before upgrading to the unlimited plan (it is just that good).

This platform is worth trying if you are looking for a tool to quickly transcribe videos or audio to other formats like Docs and PDF and even transcribe to many different languages. I was able to transcribe up to 3 videos that are up to 30 minutes long.
Victoria Tolu Omotoso (Review on Trustpilot)
TurboScribe is valued for its fast speed and accuracy, especially with straightforward transcription tasks. However, like any service, it is not perfect, and some users experience issues with complex audio files or less-than-ideal customer support response times.
I just purchased a premium for this thing yesterday. It says unlimited. Well, after just about 50 hours of recordings, it bottlenecked me. It is "Optimizing for high volume," and it prevents you from uploading files. Yesterday, I was able to get about 7 GB of recordings transcribed before it told me to try again later. It obviously is trying to prolong my subscription, which is a deceptive tactic.

Terrible customer service. Raised issues as a platform would not recognize multiple voices. TurboScribe ghosted me when I asked for help and a refund.
